Face #30

5 x 5 oil on panel

Seems like forever since I've posted. Yes, I'm still alive here. I've been insanely busy. But things are starting to quiet down. So yesterday I did have time to paint. I wanted to start out simple with a mug shot. I thought this guy looked gnarly enough to be fun to paint, and I was right! I loved the cool bright on one side of his face, and warm glow on the other. I have a profile of him too I'm thinking of trying.

  3. Wonderful painting, Cathy! Beautiful brush strokes, and I have to agree, the angle of the head, the look in his eyes, the mouth - great!
