Good Friends

Here are a couple of my artist friends. I painted this from a photo I took last year at the Celebration of Fine Art. I think they must be discussing something deep and important. Maybe it's about when and where to use more red in their paintings!

  1. This is wonderful, Cathy! You've done a great job of capturing the pensive expression in her face. Safe travels, and have a good time in Scottsdale!

  2. How unique to paint a candid portrait like this from the side! Great job!

  3. I'm always amazed at your paintings of people. I'm terrified to paint them, but I keep looking at your work and thinking I should give it a go. Love the expression and the mood of this.

    1. Sharon, you are so good at everything else, I'm sure you would nail it. I'm terrified when I know I need to get a likeness. So I try to focus on painting shapes, light and mood. If I'm lucky a likeness happens. But it's a bummer when it doesn't. Which is often! ha!

  5. Sense a serious yet happy moment and love the angle you painted this from. Your work is so wonderful Cathy. Excited to follow you and be part of 30/30 again. Shapes, light, mood......so important.....need to do more of that.
