One last post before I head out of town again. I'm taking a few days to travel with my husband to Allerton Park in Monticello, IL. He'll be working, but I'll be relaxing. I wish there was a beach there!

My first summer art festival in Cantigny Park, Wheaton, IL, is now over and I'm spending the day in recovery. It turned out to be a wonderful show. Weather was excellent. Hot, but not as hot as expected and I was under some wonderful trees with a breeze all day. The music was fun and the crowds were good. And to top all that, I was honored to get my painting on the cover of the show program!! I'm grateful it all went so well.

I had been wanting to paint this rose for a long time and I finally had a chance to give it a try last week. This was so much fun to paint. Every petal has multiple color/temperature changes. What a challenge!

I should have it varnished by the time my next art festival (Sugar Creek) comes around in July.

One more post before I leave tomorrow for my weekend art festival in Cantigny Park. I loved how these petals blended into the sky and that was what I was trying to achieve.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day weekend. Be sure to come see me at Cantigny Art in Bloom if you are in the area!

I'm leaving this Friday for a weekend at the Art In Bloom Cantigny Park Fine Arts Festival. I'll be one of the many artists showing their work on both Saturday & Sunday. If you are in the area, please be sure to stop by and say hi!

I just finished this painting of an Egret so it won't be at the art festival this coming weekend. It is still too wet. So please contact me if you would like more information about this piece.

Flowers seem to sell well for me at art fairs. I don't paint a lot of them but I just recently did a few so I would have more of a selection. Here is a sunflower done on a small cradled board. I think these would look great in a group.
